2. |
|
| Will
the dimmable Star Lux Bulb work on every
incandescendent dimmer ever made? |
| No!
Generally speaking, certain generation "programmable" and "remote
control" electronic dimmers are typically incompatible. This
is apparently due to different voltage regulation tolerances. |

3. |
|
| Then
which dimmers should be specified? |
| Although,
Star Lux Inc. is not at liberty to recommend one brand over
the another, experience has shown that 600w max., high quality
slide dimmers function well. Additionally, certain of these
dimmers are preset at the low wnd, with secondary on/off switches
to allow dimmable Star Lux Bulbs to be dimmed to a desired
level, then be turned on and off as needed. |

4. |
|
| Why
do certain dimmers cause the Star Lux Bulb to flicker
when dimmed to low levels? |
| These
dimmers do not have a "low end trim" which is either preset
or adjustable, allowing users to set the minimum dimmed level.
The dimmable Star Lux Bulb should only be dimmed to 20 percent
of light level. |

5. |
|
| Why
is it important to control the low dim level
for the dimmable Star Lux Bulb? |
| Two
reason, First, the instability realized when dimmed below 20%
is not pleasing to the eye. Second, continued flickering at
dimmed levels below 20% may significantly shorten product life. |

|
| Does
the quality of operation of the dimmable Star Lux Bulb
rely on the quality of the dimmer? |
| Yes!
Consideration must be given to the age and quality of the dimmer.
Even dimmers that otherwise, wear out, causing significant
voltage spikes and milliAmp "runaway." This phenomenon is not
as apparent in incandescent lamps, but may cause problems with
the electronic circuitry in the dimmable Star Lux Bulbs. |
